Careline awarded TSA accreditation
5/19/2008
Magna Careline Ltd (MCL), has been awarded a fitting accolade this month after achieving accreditation to the Telecare Services Association (TSA) Code of Practice.
MCL provides a 24 hour personal emergency alarm monitoring service. It recently underwent an in depth independent audit which looked closely at all aspects of it’s service delivery and operations. Subsequently, accreditation to the TSA’s Code of Practice, Parts One and Two, has been awarded.
The achievement of accreditation to the TSA’s Code of Practice is a tremendous accolade for MCL. There are approximately 300 control centres operating in the UK, delivering telecare services and fewer than 100 have achieved accreditation to the Code of Practice to date.
Head of Careline, Tanya Grant, says, “This is a nationally recognised industry standard and confirms that we are providing an excellent standard of service and that our staff are committed to working hard to maintain this. The team in MCL should be credited for their hard work in achieving this goal, for the consistently high standard of service they provide to their clients and for continually seeking to improve.”
Accreditation can only then be retained by being awarded ‘code compliance’ which follows annual checks.
The Code of Practice provides the Strategic Framework within which service providers should operate. It details the standards an organisation working in the telecare industry must achieve. Part One covers, Calls Handling Operational Requirements and describes the standard required for the planning, management and operation of Telecare Response Centres. Part Two looks at Installation Operational Requirements and describes the standards to be met in planning, managing and installing telecare equipment in clients’ homes.
