Magna Careline wins major new contract
07.10.12Dorset-based Magna Careline has won a major new contract with the acquisition of Sentinel Communicare service.
The new contract saw Magna Careline’s customer base shoot up by more than 30 per cent.
Magna Careline’s general manager, Tanya Grant, said the company was already a disaster recovery partner with Sentinel, a housing association in Basingstoke, when the contract came up.
She said: “We were shortlisted for the contract during May 2012, at which point Sentinel revealed it was considering selling the business.
“We are now responsible for monitoring 800 Sentinel residents’ alarms and handling the out-of-hours calls for its 8,000 properties.
“There are also a further 1,300 private customers in the Basingstoke and Fleet area and 27 commercial contracts, including private alarm monitoring, out-of-hours support including a contract to make crematoria bookings.”
Magna Careline will be setting up an office in the Basingstoke/Fleet area to service the private customers there.
Magna now has more than 18,000 alarm monitoring customers and more than 50 out-of-hours and disaster recovery support contracts across the UK, all connected to the control centre at Poundbury, Dorchester.
Tanya said: “To have been awarded this opportunity over national competition is a real coup for Magna Careline and testament to the Telecare Services Association-accredited standard of service we provide our customers across the UK.
“I’d like to pay tribute to the team here who have really gone the extra mile to ensure our essential service continues to be delivered to so many.”
